Gölyazı, located on the shores of Uluabat Lake in the west of Bursa, is a corner of paradise waiting to be discovered with its natural beauties and historical texture. This small fishing village, hidden among reeds and adorned with narrow stone streets, offers a unique tranquility to its visitors. Gölyazı, with its history dating back to the 6th century BC, has been home to many civilizations and has managed to preserve its cultural mosaic from the past to the present. In this village, known as Apollonia in ancient times, walls and stone structures from the Roman and Byzantine periods create the feeling of a journey through time. In addition, the sunset views over the lake resemble a painting and are an indispensable stop for photographers.
One of the most striking features of Gölyazı is its nature that changes every season and is home to migratory birds. The water lilies blooming among the reeds in spring and the white lilies decorating the surface of the water offer an eye-catching view. It is possible to see pelicans and seagulls soaring in the lake with boat tours around the lake. In addition, the Weeping Sycamore, located at the entrance of the village, has become the symbol of Gölyazı with its 750 years of history and has a story that fascinates every visitor. Gölyazı, where nature and history are intertwined, offers a calm and peaceful escape for those who want to get away from the chaos of city life.
About Me

YAREN YILDIRIM
EU YOUTH WORKER
Hello everyone
I'm Yaren! I am 24 years old. I am a senior student of International Relations. I am also an EU Project Assistant. I work as a youth worker at Kültür Eğitim ve Proje Derneği (KEPDER).
I love traveling and getting to know different cultures, both for my work and as a hobby. When visiting different countries, I always feel how valuable it is to meet people and discover their lifestyles, values and beliefs. Photography deepens these experiences even more because each frame offers an opportunity to capture the essence of a culture, which encourages me to think more and learn more about cultural diversity.
