A cloudy Istanbul day and the Maiden’s Tower.
There is a love story, a legend about the Maiden’s Tower and the Galata Tower that I mentioned before.
Here’s the story:
The Maiden’s Tower is alone on the Bosphorus, naive but elegant as a pearl in the heart of Istanbul. The Galata Tower, on the other hand, is an imposing structure overlooking Istanbul from the very top.
As the Maiden’s Tower floats alone on the Bosphorus, the Galata Tower appears before it with its imposing and mesmerizing stance. The two towers fall in love in the presence of Istanbul, but they cannot meet. Because the Bosphorus is an obstacle between them. Galata Tower writes letters and poems to the Maiden’s Tower, which melts day by day in the face of impossible love.
One day Ahmet Çelebi climbs to the top of the Galata Tower. His aim was to fly from there to Üsküdar. Çelebi cannot resist the insistence of the Galata Tower and decides to fly with the letters he has been collecting for centuries. However, as he approaches the coast of Salacak, he is scattered by the wind, but the waves carry the letters to the Maiden’s Tower. Then the Maiden’s Tower realized how much Galata Tower was in love with her.
They realize that their love is mutual and they become even more beautiful. Even though it is impossible for them to meet, they have lived their love by looking at each other for centuries… This legendary love, which has been passed down from generation to generation, has brought a fascinating atmosphere to the beauty of Istanbul, and now they have been able to say “I love you” to each other in Morse code with their colorful lanterns as colorful as their stories.
